That’s it. The prompt is as simple or as complicated as that one sentence/phrase. “I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately.”
I saw this sentence in a book and it just made me pause for a moment as I contemplated it. I think I was feeling particularly restless at the time and so it spoke to me. How I will feel about it when it finally comes round as a prompt I have no idea but here it is a gift from January Molly to September Molly and also to anyone else joining in.
Do these words speak to you? Do you feel like something has ‘gotten into you’ lately. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Or maybe you think it about someone else. A friend, a family member, a partner. Have they been acting differently? Again, is a good thing or a bad thing?
Or maybe this one inspires you to write a story based around that sentence.
